SOCIALIZATION OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND ONLINE GAMBLING IN MAN MODEL, SORONG CITY
Abstract
Sexual violence and online gambling are serious social problems that increasingly affect adolescents as digital technology becomes part of everyday life. This article aims to describe the implementation of an educational outreach program on the prevention of sexual violence and the dangers of online gambling among students of MAN Model Kota Sorong, and to examine the role of digital literacy in supporting self-protection at school. The article applies a qualitative descriptive approach based on the outreach activity, field observation, interactive discussion, and documentation. The delivered materials included forms of sexual violence, psychological and social impacts, reporting mechanisms, risks of online gambling addiction, economic loss, and legal consequences. The findings indicate that students need clear, contextual, and continuous education because their understanding is often limited to physical violence and does not fully include digital-based sexual violence. Online gambling also remains vulnerable to being viewed as entertainment, although it contains addictive and harmful risks. The outreach activity functions as a preventive effort to develop awareness, critical thinking, and students' courage to reject and report risky behavior. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and communities is necessary to establish a safe, healthy, ethical, and responsible learning environment in the digital era for adolescents today.
